Pakistan is one of the major and biggest countries in Asia . It shares its borders with India and Afghanistan . The people of Pakistan have a multi-linguistic and multi-ethnic background. Pakistan can boast of a rich cultural heritage. It is known for its music that can be traced back to the 13 th -century poet and musician Amir Khusru, who composed the earliest ragas. Besides this, there is Qawwali, a form of devotional song, which forms a part of the Sufi tradition. Qawwali is based on melodic and free-rhythmic song-poems and classical musical forms. Formerly performed at the shrines of Sufi saints, today Qawwali is usually a part of celebrations or events.
The architecture of Pakistan portrays a rich combination of Mughal and British colonial architectural forms. This combination has given way to large domes, slender towers, and archways that have been constructed with the use of red sandstone, white marble, embellished with jewels. Pakistan contains a variety of climatic conditions ranging from heat in the south to the freezing cold of the high Himalaya and Karakorum . In the Northern Area there is continental climate. The Swat and the Kaghan valleys and the southern side of Nanga Parbat are just inside the monsoon belt. The time of year to trek in the North is dedicated by how high you plan to go. The weather is hospitable between mid March and mid November. In the South autumn and winter brings bright dry days and cool nights.
Urdu is the national language, which is spoken throughout Pakistan. English is extensively used in official and commercial circles. The main regional languages are Balochi, Balti, Burushashki, Khowar, Panjabi, Pushto, Sindi, Shina.
